According to Bloomberg, Changpeng Zhao is one of the wealthiest people in the world. The Canadian who is the CEO of the crypto exchange Binance has a net worth of $96.9 billion. He is the richest entrepreneur when it comes to crypto in the world.
According to the Index, which was published recently, Changpeng Zhao is credited with the majority of ownership in Binance. However, the Index does not take into account assets featuring cryptocurrencies, because it is unknown how much the billionaire has.
Zhao, who is originally from China, moved to Canada in the 1980s when his father got a job. He graduated from McGill University and his interest in cryptocurrency started to emerge in 2013, playing a poker game.
Binance was established in 2017. According to the statistics, by 2018 it was the biggest trading platform of crypto in the world and even now it has plenty of users.
As Bloomberg notes, Zhao’s money would be enough to purchase numerous things from gold to crude oil. He would also easily purchase the most expensive house in the United States.
Zhao is currently ranked 11th in the world and he is behind such names as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. They are ranked 1st and 2nd respectively on the list.
Another Canadian who has been placed on the list is the founder of Shopify, Tobi Lutke. He currently holds 235th place.
